Making Anesthesia Understandable for All

Team Performing Surgery

During my first anesthesiology rotation, I was eager to find resources to help me better understand the specialty and prepare for cases in the OR. While references like the Stanford CA1 Guide provided a great starting point, I found that they lacked the depth I was looking for. On the other hand, resources like ACCRAC, the University of Kentucky anesthesia lectures, and textbooks like Miller’s Anesthesia were incredibly valuable but often too advanced for a medical student just starting out. I wanted something in between, an accessible, structured resource that met learners at their level.

That’s why I created Anesthesiopedia, a site designed to serve as a practical entry point for medical students interested in anesthesiology. It bridges the gap between beginner-friendly overviews and advanced anesthesia texts, providing the right level of detail to help students build a strong foundation. It also serves as a refresher for new CA-1 residents coming off their intern year, helping them transition smoothly into the OR.

Whether you’re exploring anesthesiology for the first time or looking for a structured way to prepare for residency, Anesthesiopedia is here to provide the knowledge and clarity you need.

What You’ll Find on Anesthesiopedia
